The Hearing of Faith in the FTTA, Matthew Muh

I grew up in a Christian family and heard about the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA) sometime in my youth. Before going to college, I had already decided to attend the Training. During my college years, my appetite for the word of God increased, as did my appreciation for the ministy of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. In the Training, many of our reading assignments are from Witness Lee's writings, which have been helpful in expounding the Bible and applying it to the Christian life.

I remember reading a portion from Witness Lee's Life-study of Galatians for one of my classes. In a message on the hearing of faith versus the works of law, Witness Lee stressed the importance of attending church meetings for the hearing of faith. By attending meetings, even though we may hear the same things time and time again, we experience the hearing of faith and thereby receive the supply of the Spirit (Galatians 3:5). The same principle also applies to the classes in the Training. Here we have many different classes, and sometimes we hear similar things being spoken from class to class. Also, having attended many meetings and having read some of the writings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee before coming to the Training, I had become at least somewhat familiar with many of the things that are being taught in the Training. While reviewing the portion I had read in the Life-study of Galatians, I gained a renewed realization of the importance of the classes in the Training. By attending them I receive not only some teachings but also the spiritual supply from God through His faithful stewards, regardless of whether I have already heard what is being spoken. If in my classes I am open to hear what the Lord is speaking through the members of His Body, I position myself to receive the bountiful supply of the Spirit (Philippians 1:19). Since coming to the Training, I can testify that I have received the supply of the Spirit again and again by being under the hearing of faith in my classes.
